Top 10 Things You Didn’t Know About Mike Trout! (MLB)

EverythingTop10 is proud to present, “The
Top 10 Things You Didn’t Know About Mike Trout!” #10. Mike Trout was born Michael Nelson Trout to
Debbie Busonick and Jeff Trout on August 7th, 1991 in Vineland, New Jersey. Mike’s father Jeff played college baseball
at Delaware State and played professional baseball for the Minnesota Twins organization. Mike has a brother named Tyler, and a sister
named Teal. #9. Although he was born in Vineland, New Jersey,
Mike grew up in nearby Millville (this will come up later). #8. Trout was a 2-sport athlete in high school,
lettering in basketball and baseball. He played shortstop and pitched until his
senior year, when he was moved to outfield. While he was a junior at Millville Senior
High School, Mike pitched a no-hitter on the way to the state playoffs. #7. Trout was drafted 25th overall by the Los
Angeles Angels in 2009, but would not play a steady role in the Majors until 2012, where
he became the youngest player ever to hit 20 home runs and steal 40 bases. He would go on to win the Rookie of the Year
Award and come up 2nd in the MVP voting. He became the youngest member of the 30 (home
runs)-30 (stolen bases) club that year too. #6. Trout would win 2 MVP awards (2014 and 2016). He would also become the youngest player in
MLB history to reach 100 home runs, and 100 stolen bases, breaking the previous record
held by Alex Rodriguez. He has also led the league in walks 4 times,
runs batted in twice, and stolen bases once. He has been Player of the Year twice, a 7
time All-Star, and twice he was named the MVP of the All-Star game. #5. Mike has a few nicknames. One of his names is the Millville Miracle. Others include Prince Fish, King Fish 2.0
(these are nods to a former Angel Tim Salmon, as he is The King Fish). Due to a prank done on his Wikipedia page,
one nickname that has stuck is the Millville Meteor. #4. His favorites. Mike Trout grew up a die-hard Philadelphia
76ers, Phillies, and Eagles fan, and is a season-ticket holder for the Eagles. This will come up again later on in the list. His hobbies include watching and playing golf. He also loves to sing. Trout’s favorite actor is Adam Sandler,
and his favorite foods are sandwiches and anything Italian. #3. Mike Trout was involved with potential tampering
in the Majors. Bryce Harper (former Washington Nationals,
now Philadelphia Phillies player) made this comment after signing with the Phillies, “If
you don’t think I’m gonna call Mike Trout to come to Philly for 2020, you’re crazy.” After making the statement-this one being
the first to name Trout outright, but not the first comment about the LA outfielder-The
Angels contacted Major League Baseball and accused the Philadelphia Phillies of tampering
with Trout. The league has rules against talking to, or
about a player while they are under contract with another team. Mike Trout signed one of the richest contracts
in Major League Baseball history, to silence the talks about a possible run in Philly. It is no secret; Trout is a fan of Philadelphia. The man grew up close to the city, and we
mentioned before that he is a season-ticket holder for the Eagles. But even with Harper saying what he said,
Trout signed a 12-year $430 million extension. The aforementioned Harper had just recently
signed what was the richest deal in the league, but the Millville Meteor beat him out. The contract extension keeps him in Los Angeles
until he turns 39. #2. Mike Trout is married. He proposed to his long-time girlfriend, Jessica
Cox, in July of 2016. The two married on December 9th, 2017. The couple met in high school, and have been
in love ever since. The two dated 11 years before the engagement. #1. The number one thing on this list is not that
he is married, but how he proposed. The two were together on a vacation back east
on July 2nd, 2016 and upon walking out of a building he asked his girlfriend to “look
up at the sky.” Mike had hired a pilot to write, “Will you
marry me Jess?” The couple then went to social media to reveal
that she had indeed said yes. They were married in a small ceremony 18 months
later. That’s all folks! Please leave a like if you enjoyed the video

best player in the MLB! See you next time!

  1. Your thumbnail of the woman is clearly photoshopped to create her cleavage. I found that picture online and it's clear that you used a photoshopped version for clicks.
