Golfers have to tackle a variety of challenges – including slopes, downhill and uphill sections. Old trees, narrow fairways and challenging slopes are what define this parkland course to the south of Hamburg. And it’s always in top condition. You want to hit the links? Go ahead! This genuine links course is on the North Sea island of Sylt, complete with wind, dunes and 96 deep pot bunkers. And it also features a state-of-the-art 5-star hotel. Multiple water hazards, strategically placed bunkers and very undulating greens define this course, which was completely redesigned in 2013. Also, it’s kept in excellent condition and there’s a wonderful view from the club’s terrace. The epitome of tradition. The club has been in existence since 1906, making it one of the oldest in Germany. The parkland course is the classic place to play golf in Hamburg and has been named Germany’s best many times by the golfing press. You’d think we’re on the coast of Scotland. But we’re not. WinstonLinks plays just like a traditional links course, even though it’s not by the sea. Since its opening, Bernhard Langer and Co. have often played here. It’s a really awesome course. First place goes to Golf Club Föhr. Founded in 1925, it’s a club with a very long tradition.
