Toddler Hit By 100mph+ Baseball Recovering

HOSPITAL WHERE THE TODDLER IS UNDER OBSERVATION. Reporter: GOOD AFTERNOON, THE LITTLE GIRL IS STILL HERE AT THE HOSPITAL AFTER TAKING THAT DIRECT HIT. MOMENTS AGO WE SAW HER FAMILY WALKING INTO THE HOSPITAL. THEY DID NOT GIVE US AN UPDATE ON HER CONDITION BUT THEY ASKED THAT EVERYONE KEEP HER IN THEIR PRAYERS. PLAYERS ON THE FIELD PRAYING WITH TEARS IN THEIR EYES AND FANS RUSHING TO AID THE INJURED TODDLER SITTING ALONG THE THIRD- BASE LINE. LOOKOUT. THE FOUL BALL CAME OFF THE BAT OF TODD FRAZIER AT MORE THAN 100 MILES PER HOUR HITTING THE LITTLE GIRL WITH CURLY BLONDE HAIR. HER FACE COVERED BY A MAN RUSHING TO GET HER HELP FANS AND PLAYERS STUNNED. WE WERE REALLY CONCERNED FOR THE CHILD. AFTER FOUR MINUTES PLAY CONTINUED. I THOUGHT OF MY KIDS. I HAVE TWO KIDS UNDER THREE YEARS OLD. THE ISSUE IS SAFETY IT WAS THE SECOND TIME THIS YEAR A CHILD WAS INJURED ALONG THE BASELINE, IN MAY THIS BOY WAS HIT BY A BAT, YANKEE STADIUM ONLY HASN’T NETTING BETWEEN THE DUGOUTS BETWEEN HOME PLATE, THE METS HAVE EXTENDED THEIR NETTING EARLIER THIS YEAR TO STRETCH DOWN THE BASELINES. ALL THE WAY UNTIL THE MIDDLE OF THE OUTFIELD, ONE MINNESOTA TWINS PLAYER GOT EMOTIONAL AFTER THE GAME. I DON’T CARE ABOUT THE VIEW OF THE FANS ARE ALL ABOUT THAT IT IS ALL ABOUT SAFETY. I STILL HAVE A KNOT IN MY STOMACH. AN MIAMI ATTORNEY SAYS UNDER THE 1913 BASEBALL RULE ORGANIZATIONS ARE PROTECTED FROM LIABILITY DESPITE FREQUENT ACCIDENTS. THERE ARE MORE FANS INJURED IN THE STAND THAN BETTORS ARE HIT IN THE BATTER’S BOX IN A GIVEN YEAR. Reporter: MAJOR-LEAGUE BASEBALL DOES NOT MANDATE NETTING BEHIND HOME PLATE. 1/3 OF THE TEAMS IN THE MLB HAVE THAT EXTENDED NETTING BUT THE YANKEES HAVE SAID IT IS SERIOUSLY EXPLORING THE ORGANIZATION OF EXTENDING THEIR

  3. it was an accident obviously, but maybe that is not the best place to bring a toddler, you have a brain, use it.

  4. most people sit down there don't pay attention I've been down there with my son 6y I tell my son pay attention at all times at the batter at his age People play on their phones having a great time but not watching the feel hopefully she's OK

  5. Parents going into the hospital to see their kid and these vultures stick cameras in their face. It's disgusting.

  6. They should not make the fence bigger it will make less able to catch so maybe people should bring a mitt

  7. Omg! I prey that she is better! It was an accident but the really need to expand even more to protect people

  9. It's the fault of the parents!! They should have a better judgement. Like why would you put your toddler anywhere near a FREE FLYING +100mph BALL!!!!???

  10. The organization should have their premises protected from such mishap!! Invest dollars to protector viewers. Its a no-brainier for God sake!

  11. Wow I almost got hit in the face by a slow ball but instead it hit my chest when I was new to baseball (hurt like hell)

  12. Daaaaamn. I’m late on this one. Of course this was an accident. Not to be funny because it’s definitely not, but she has a very strong head to survive that. 100MPH?!! Sheesh! I hope she’s ok by now

  13. It continues to happen here in 2019 and won't end until they install more netting. Is there a recent update on this little girl?

  14. “Were sorry for what happened but we’re still shoving five fucking cameras in your face”

  15. That’s so sad! I hope she’s ok! Imagine being the parents and going to the game and then your daughter gets hit with the ball

  16. Maybe baseball stadiums need those fences or guards like hockey games have. They need to be at least that high

  17. But who tf would take a toddler to a baseball game. Their not gonna fucking remember it, it’s a fucking baby

  18. 0:13 damn they just trying to see if their family member is okay and they just shoving cameras in their face

  19. In Canada, we have hockey. There was a 13 year old who died from getting hit by a puck. The rink then put up high netting to avoid further accidents
