Store Clerk: I chased would-be robber with a baseball bat


HE DESCRIBED HOW THEY USE ROBOTS TO REMOVE THE DEVICES. TODAY MARKS DAY NINE OF THE TRIAL. TRACY: A WOULD-BE ROBBER GETS COLD FEET. COURTNEY: TRACY, NO ONE WAS INJURED, AND THERE WERE NO CUSTOMERS IN THE STORE, BUT POLICE ARE ASKING FOR YOUR HELP LOCATING THE MAN WHO GOT AWAY. A MAN WEARING HOODED SWEATSHIRTS, SUNGLASSES, AND A BANDANNA WALKED INTO THE GULF MART AROUND 10:30 LAST NIGHT, SHOWED A HANDGUN, AND DEMANDED CASH. HE WAS NOT GIVEN MONEY, AND THAT IS WHEN HE FLED ON FOOT. WE ARE HERE WITH THE OWNER OF THE STORE, WHO WAS THERE AND HELD UP AT GUNPOINT. WHAT DID THAT FEEL LIKE? COURTNEY, I WAS MINDING MY OWN BUSINESS. SITTING DOWN. I WAS NOT NERVOUS, BUT RATHER ANNOYED BY SOMEONE COMING IN AND LOCKING HIS GUN BACK. WANTING EVERYTHING IN THE REGISTER. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY DAY THAT SOMEONE COMES IN TRYING TO DO THIS. I WAS COLLECTED AND TRY TO YANK HIS GUN OUT OF THE WAY. HE GOT SCARED. TYPICAL. IT IS WHAT IT IS. IT IS FUNNY. YOU KNOW, SOMEONE IS RUNNING AWAY FROM A GUY WITH A BASEBALL BAT AND HE HAS A GUN. DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME, BUT EVERYTHING WORKED OUT. COURTNEY: WE ARE GLAD YOU ARE SAFE.
