MSSU travels to Emporia State for big series

THE MISSOURI SOUTHERN BASEBALL TEAM IS SITTING IN FIRST PLACE IN THE MIAA. AND THE LIONS HAVE A BIG SERIES THIS WEEKEND AGAINST 2ND PLACE EMPORIA STATE. SOUTHERN RANKED NUMBER 12 IN DIVISIION II TRAVELS TO JUST A GAME BACK IN THE CONFERENCE STANDINGS AT 10-4. THIS SOUTHERN TEAM IS GETTING CONTRIBUTIONS FROM A LOT OF DIFFERENT PLAYERS. THEY LEAD THE MIAA WITH 31 HOME RUNS. AND THE LION PITCHING AND DEFENSE HAS ALSO BEEN STRONG. AND DARNELL SAYS IT’S A TEAM THAT’S BEEN FUN TO COACH. BRYCE DARNELL – MSSU HEAD COACH “I THINK THAT WHEN YOU’RE PLAYING WELL, THAT’S CONTAGIOUS. I THINK OUR GUYS ARE CONFIDENT RIGHT NOW, AND YOU KNOW JUST EVERY GAME IS IMPORTANT, EVERY OUT IS IMPORTANT. I THINK OUR GUYS HAVE THE WORKMAN LIKE A LITTLE MORE THAN WE DID LAST YEAR, AND COMING OUT HOT AND STAY HOT, AND KEEPING OUR HEAD UP EVEN WHEN WE’RE DOWN AND WE’RE LOSING. SO JUST KNOWING THAT WE HAVE TO KEEP PUSHING FORWARD IS JUST WHAT IS REALLY GOING.”
