BASEBALL SEASON… WITH MANY OF OUR AREA TEAMS REACHING THE STATE TOURNAMENT! DIVISION ONE STARTED THE ACTION THIS AFTERNOON… WITH TWO OF OUR LOCAL SQUADS, SQUARING OFF FOR A SPOT IN THE SEMIFINALS! BIG 8 CHAMPION JANESVILLE CRAIG AND BARABOO TAKING THE DIAMOND, IN THE HOPES OF KEEPING THEIR SEASONS ALIVE! ALL TIED AT ONES… BUT CRAIG PULLED AWAY IN THE SIXTH… KEVIN BRANDT PINGS ONE TO CENTER… THAT BRINGS IN NOAH BERHAMMER FOR THE LEAD, AND THE COUGARS NEVER LOOKED BACK! LATER IN THE INNING, TRAYTON CHRISTIANSON DRIVES HOME J-T SMITHBACK… THAT WAS PART OF A 5-RUN 6TH FOR CRAIG! THE COUGARS ADDED ANOTHER TWO RUNS IN THE SEVENTH… AS THEY TAKE DOWN BARABOO 7-2! CRAIG THEN ADVANCED TO TONIGHT’S D-1 SEMIFINALS TO PLAY OCONOMOWOC… THE COUGARS… JUST FINISHED UP AND THEY WIN IT 4-0! CRAIG WILL PLAY KIMBERLY IN THE D-1 TITLE GAME ON THURSDAY!
