KATHRYN: ASSISTANT COACH ” SAM FLORES “… PASSED AWAY… UNEXPECTEDLY LAST NIGHT… KATHRYN: FRIENDS SAY… HE SUFFERED A BRAIN ANEURYSM. WHEN OUT OF THE BLUE.. HE WAS FLOWN TO U-C SAN FRANCISCO MEDICAL CENTER WHERE HE DIED OF A BRAIN ANEURYSM. SOT/ RON SCOTT/ FRESNO CITY COLLEGE HEAD BASEBALL COACH “you know there’s a saying that you’re not guarantee tomorrow and we were with him friday, he does everything for us and to me he’s like the life line of our program”WE’RE TOLD THE 41- YEAR-OLD LIVED FOR HIS FAMILY.. HIS SON, ALWAYS THERE BY HIS SIDE DURING GAMES. FLORES COACHED THE RAMS FOR LAST FOUR SEASONS.. BUT HEAD BASEBALL COACH RON SCOTT SAYS FLORES WAS MORE THAN JUST BASEBALL. SOT “he just touched everybody differently, some kids he’s helped them with their housing, some he’s helped with classes, he’s one of those young coaches that kids feel good that they could go to”MANY PLAYERS PAST AND PRESENT ECHOING THAT SENTIMENT. AND COACH SCOTT SAYS THEY PLAYERS ARE GOING TO TAKE SOME TIME OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS BEFORE THEY START PRACTICE AGAIN.. THEY ALSO PLAN TO START A COLLEGE FUND FOR FLORES’S SON..
