Hi, my name is Juan Carlos with Expert Village.
In this segment I’m going to teach you how to be a switch hitter. In this segment we’re
going to talk point of contact on the right side of the plate. Normally the point of contact
is normally in front. You always want to make contact in front. So from the right side as
you swing, as you pull the hits through you want to snap the wrist out in front to make
contact with the ball at the most appropriate spot in order to get an effective hit. You
want to make sure when you make the point of contact, that the sweet part of the bat
is between here and here. Normally if you hit the ball right here, you will not hit
the ball effectively as it is not part of the bat. Hit the ball on the edge. You will
only tip the ball possibly tipping the ball fowl so you definitely want to hit the core
of the bat which is in the middle around here or here.
