THE SDSU BASEBALL TEAM HAS POSTED FIVE STRAIGHT WINS INCLUDING LAST WEEKEND SWEEP AND SIT SECOND IN THE SUMMER LEAGUE STANDINGS. FRIDAY THE JACKRABBITS OPENED A THREE-GAME SET AGAINST CONFERENCE LEADER OMAHA IN SIOUX FALLS. STATE STARTS THE GAME WITH A BANG AS DREW BREES THE ROCKETS LEAD. BRADEN BROWN GROUPS A SINGLE TO RIGHT CENTER AND SCORED FROM SECOND PART OF A FOUR RUN FIRST INNING FOR THE HOME TEAM. LATER BROWN IS BACK WITH A MAN ON THIRD AND CHOPPED A SINGLE BACK THROUGH THE BOX. BRADEN COLLECTS HIS SECOND RBI OF THE DAY AS GUS STEIGER SCORES. JOSH FAULK STEPS INTO THE BOX AND BLASTS A SOLO HOME RUN TO THE CENTER WHICH IS HIS FOURTH OF THE SEASON EXTENDING SDSU 26- 0. JACKRABBITS LED 10 AFTER SIX AND THE RALLY PAST SDSU 12- 10. HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL CONTEST PITTING ROOSEVELT AGAINST FARGO CHEYENNE. ROOSEVELT HANGS A RUN ON THE BOARD AS SINGLES TO WRITE. A FEW MINUTES LATER THE MUSTANGS ARE THREATENING AS GARRETT LONG CHOPS ONE BACK TO JOEY POSTER MEYER WHO CAN’T TO LEFT AND OVER THE FIELDERS HEAD. THEY SCORE AND THE MUSTANGS PICK UP A 4-TO WIN OVER ROOSEVELT. ANOTHER BORDER BATTLE GAME FEATURING WATERTOWN IN FARGO NORTH, BASES-LOADED FOR PARKER SCHMIDT WHO LINES A SINGLE TO PEYTON FISHER DELIVERING A DEEP FLY TO THE LEFT AND IT ROLLS TO THE FENCE CLEARING THE BASES AND FISHER HAS A DOUBLE 3-2 SPARTANS.
