The Bridgewater baseball team defeated DeSales,
picked second in the Freedom Conference, 10 to 5 in game one of a Sunday doubleheader. The Eagles struck twice in the first. After hits by Jacob Grabeel and Brett Jones,
Luke Paczewski got the hosts on the board and Cameron Stanley ripped a line drive off
the right fielder’s glove to score another. Chad lenz went five innings on the mount to
earn the win, striking out four and allowing just one earned run Jones would knock in the next four Bridgewater
runs on three separate hits, including a two run shot to right-center in the third inning. Ryan Mason got the final three outs to lock
up the Eagles’ first victory of the 2019 season.
